Our Church's Leaders:

Who We Are

Our Mission

English Neighborhood Church takes its inspiration from Ezekiel 34:16 “I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed. . ."

Oh how easy it is to get lost! With our cell phones and iPads, our 24-hour news cycles, there’s virtually nowhere to go for a moment of peace and quiet. That’s where English Neighborhood Church comes in!

We provide a holy place of respite amid the noise and hurry of life. Come, put aside the cares of the week and find yourself in the presence of God, in our unique location: a quiet, historic enclave in Ridgefield. We offer many opportunities to serve the Lord including: Feed the Hungry, Center for Food Action, Veteran's Groups, Eastern Christian Children's Retreat, and others. We also have ongoing Bible Studies to grow and enrich your understanding of the Gospel, which informs everything we do, and are.

A Family of God.

United by our shared faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to be his disciples, English Neighborhood Church is part of the Reformed Church in America (RCA.) Like our denomination itself, ENRC has a long and rich history, and is a place where you can feel the warmth of family, and the love of Christ. We are an intimate gathering of souls who want to nurture others along this journey called life. It is a place where you will feel known, heard and supported through all the ups and downs life can bring.

Our Pastor:

Arlene Romaine (P.E.) was commissioned to the ministry of the English Neighborhood Reformed Church on May 1, 2015 and is a graduate of New Brunswick Seminary with a Certificate in Theology, and completed an intensive at Pittsburgh Seminary in Human and Faith Development.

Pastor Arlene has previously served the Reformed Church in America as a Commissioned Pastor and the United Church of Christ as a Licensed Minister. She grew up in Butler, became a hairdresser and raised two children in Oakland while attending seminary. She is married to her husband, Ron and together, they are active partners in ministry: leading two to three Bible Studies weekly, performing contemporary Christian music in worship, and leading the congregation in their walk with God. Pastor Arlene returned to seminary in January 2018, to further her education and pursue a Masters of Divinity degree.

Together with all of our church's leaders, Pastor Arlene believes in encouraging people's questions about faith, empowering all disciples to discover and use their gifts in service to The Lord, and fostering the joy that grows from being part of a faith community. She welcomes people of all ages, races, genders, backgrounds, and traditions to join us in the journey of faith in Jesus Christ.
